Susan Dewey
Regional Housing Impact Leader Award
Susan F. Prior to this, Susan served for three years as a Virginia Housing Commissioner.
As the Chief Executive Officer of Virginia Housing, Susan directed all operations of Virginia Housing, a multibillion-dollar, self-supporting public-private partnership that is responsible for addressing the statewide housing affordability needs of low and moderate-income Virginians. Virginia Housing provides a variety of rental and homeownership lending and grant programs, and free homeownership education. Virginia Housing also administers the federal Low Income Housing Tax Credit Program and a statewide Housing Choice
Voucher Program.
Amazon Housing Equity Fund
William L. Berry Sustainable Communities Award
Amazon’s Housing Equity Fund is a more than $2 billion commitment to help preserve and create affordable, inclusive housing developments through low-rate loans and grants to housing partners, traditional and non-traditional public agencies, and minority-led organizations.
The more than $2 billion Amazon Housing Equity Fund was established with the company’s belief that all people should have access to a home they can afford. While only the government can solve the affordability shortage, private industry has a role to play. The Fund was created with the goal of growing and protecting the stock of housing for low- to moderate-income families in Washington state’s Puget Sound region; Arlington, Virginia-Washington D.C. region; and the Nashville, Tennessee region.
Loudoun Workforce Housing Now Campaign
Regional Housing Impact Leader Award
Workforce Housing Now is a public awareness campaign amplifying Loudoun’s voice for workforce housing as the missing ingredient to our community’s prosperity.
Workforce Housing Now is a program of the Community Foundation for Loudoun and Northern Fauquier Counties. The campaign began with a group of concerned leaders from our community who agreed that to work in Loudoun should also enable someone to live in Loudoun—because housing is foundational.
